Director of Housing Compliance

The Director of Housing Compliance is accountable for ensuring compliance with all affordable housing program requirements and management of regulatory compliance standards across a property management portfolio. Affordability-related programming includes but not limited to Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), HUD Affordable Housing Programs, USDA Rural Development, and Fair Housing. This position will oversee, monitor and ensure adherence to regulatory compliance including asset management preservation. This position will oversee direct reports. Responsibilities include:

• Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations by conducting internal audits and preparing for external compliance inspections.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and staff training to ensure regulatory standards are met.
• Manage reporting to investors and stakeholders, ensuring timely submission of required documents and updates.
• Lead a team to optimize property performance and revenue.
• Collaborate with site and regional managers to resolve compliance findings and maintain property standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 10 years of experience in property management, real estate development or compliance in affordable housing programs.

• Certification in Tax Credit Compliance, Affordable Housing Manager, Certified Occupancy Specialist is required within 6-months of hire.

• Strong leadership, training and crisis intervention experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse population and maintain confidential information.
• Ability to travel to site locations as needed.

Salary: $80k-$95k
